SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE:

Mr. Mauro has over 10 years of experience planning and executing soil and surface water investigations for site characterizations. His responsibilities have included planning and directing soil, surface water, groundwater, and bedrock investigations for environmental projects and oversight of Underground Storage Tank (UST) and Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) decommissioning and system modification activities, tank tightness (pressure) testing, and tank system evaluations in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. He has participated in complex environmental and engineering programs which have required detailed cost-control programs and multidisciplinary staffing. Investigations performed involved numerous environmental characterization studies relative to hazardous waste screenings, preliminary assessments (Phase I), site investigations (Phase II), remedial investigations and feasibility studies (Phase III), UST/AST investigations, and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS).

Mr. Mauro also has over 5 years experience in planning and implementing lead-based paint and asbestos containing material investigations for city and state agencies. His expertise includes visual inspection of asbestos containing materials and lead-based paint, development of asbestos and lead removal specifications, daily monitoring of contractors' work efforts, construction quality assurance, and documentation of field work.

Mr. Mauro has also conducted numerous asbestos and lead-based paint surveys for schools, hospitals, commercial, residential, and transportation projects. His analytical background includes laboratory coordination for a federally funded facility. As laboratory coordinator, Mr. Mauro was responsible for the preparation of organic and inorganic samples for analysis, laboratory certification and maintenance, screening and analytical analysis for pesticides and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), staff management and training, data validation using United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Contract Laboratory Procedures (CLP) quality assurance/quality control procedures, and laboratory logistics.
